Always Date format with letters

I vote for star dates.

Actually, while I don't always use it, year-month-day sorts better in computers for I usually use the format whenever the date is likely to be computer sorted.

Actually, while I don't always use it, year-month-day sorts better in computers for I usually use the format whenever the date is likely to be computer sorted.
This is the way I name files for personal use. When writing dates, I almost always use the format dd-MMM-yyyy, with MMM uses alphabetic letters. I freely admit that I typically write out the entire name of the month, but only for the six months of the year I actually like: March through August. I don't have enough respect for any of the other months to give them the same treatment.
