Our local 'Management Institute' started providing training for KM recently. I attended a briefing before and it is another big subject that I think you should need some proper training to start with (especially if you do not have the proper background).

Start reading some books recommended by the wiki page in the post above. Alternatively you may want to contact the 'KM Institute' for further advice. (I am not related in anyway)

Harry is on the right track here. I also subscribe to the trade magazine for the industry which supplies white papers and other useful stuff. http://www.kmworld.com/

That said: don't get buried in minutia if you don't already have a "big picture" of what you need to accomplish.

I DO deal in this field in addition to several others. Some situations are easier to resolve than others. Why not give us a little more information about the situation and goals of your organization so we can be more on target with a response?

Without a little focus, telling you about KM would be akin to explaining color to a person blind from birth.
