API Monogram question

Hello Quality Gurus,

I am trying to have a better understanding of the API monogramming requirements.

Currently, our supplier is unable to perform the needed test pressure requirements for their product.
Therefore, the supplier is planning to send out their equipment and outsources the testing to a third-party supplier.
NOTE: The equipment will be for production products and not for qualification/validation of a product.
Would this violate API Monogramming since the testing is not performing at their specific location?

Regards,
Bryan

It depends on which standard it is required to meet.

API 6D 25th Edition requires that the manufacturer perform the pressure testing and does not allow outsourcing. So if this is a 6D product and the pressure testing is outsourced, it would not be allowed to API monogram it.

Some other API specs are not as restrictive and might allow outsourcing the pressure testing. If you want to be sure, review the applicable standard yourself and/or contact the API Monogram program.
