Applying HAZOP and FMEA methods for HSE Hazard Identification in Construction

Hello everybody!
Is it possible to apply somehow HAZOP and\or FMEA methods for HSE hazard identification in construction works (except design)??
Or these methods are only for chemical, metallurgy, aerospace etc production??
Thanks for your opinion!

The methods are generic, not restricted by industry. We use a version of FMEA for our construction activities risk analysis and controls.

Thanks for your reply Pancho!
Do you have a short example for any type of construction work? just to have an idea on practical application.

Though FMEA can be applied to any activity/ process for hazard Id. but the HAZOP studies are generally employed in Chemical /process industries/ petroleum industries/ storage of chemicals/ petroleum etc. or to to the processes with high degree of disaster potential. The basic purpose of a HAZOP study is to identify potential hazards and operability problems caused by 'deviations from the design intent' of process plants that can lead to significant damage to human life & health/ environment/ property.

As to the construction activity, no such operability problems exist that may warrant conducting a HAZOP nor it's required by the law (in most countries).
