Apqp

Hello to everybody!
I'm new in QS9k. I'm a vietnamese. i'm seeking for advices on this matter: i don't know how to prepare an APQP for a services, it's seem to be best suit to prepare APQP for actual product with real production processes. My typical service is: create good relationships with our potential customers/end users and sell our products to them. i just think APQP can only be used in automotive industry, doesn't it? please help me on this,
thanks,
troc

Hi TROC, and welcome to the cove.
On the surface the APQP does appear to be better suited for a manufacturing site. However if you take a closer look you wil find that the APQP process is adaptable all conditions of business, automotive or otherwise.
Start at the beginning and review each section. Each section contains two primary headings; Inputs and outputs.

Ex:
Section 1.0 - Plan for customer needs and expectations. What are the inputs from your customer and what are the outputs need to perform the task.

Section 2.0 - Product design and development. what products do you provide your customer; advertising brochures, friendly service, sales meetings, etc.

And so on with each section. Don't be lured awy by the words "design" and "development". A service function is a process just like a manufacturing process and they both can be "designed" and "developed".

I work for a service provider - heat treat. It is very close to a manufacuter in a lot of ways - however we are very involved in APQP. We do about 75% automotive and have been required to implement APQP years ago. We use it accross the board.
