If you are already an ASQ member, I urge you to attend a few Section meetings (if you can possibly fit them into your life) and there you will have an opportunity to talk with folks who have taken the courses AND to the ones acting as instructors. This will give you an opportunity to judge for yourself whether you feel there will be value to taking the courses offered by a local Section. Sadly, there is no uniform set of criteria for the instructors and they can vary greatly in the ability to help a student learn, no matter how technically competent they may be in the field of study.
If you are not yet an ASQ member, search out the local Section. I can almost guarantee they will be happy to invite you as a guest to one of their meetings to ask such questions.
You might find some value in reading through threads others in your situation have posted in the ASQ Discussion Forums open to the public at large
