Hi all

I understand that the Application retake includes 2 hour exam similar to what I have done first time + additional 4 hour exam involving a new case study

If you have any idea what format this 4 hour exam covers please let me know (How many questions, how many multiple choice, how many questions expect long essay type answers etc).

Also what these long answers covers (any PEAR report/anything like that)

If you have any information please let me know

Thanks in advance

Tim

A case study is presented - (yes - similar to the one you took in class)

it is a 6 hour test
The first application part - 40 questions on what to do - (pre stage, stage 1 & stage 2)

the second part is - scenario on a company, quality manual, management review and other documents (Same scenario as the course)

the third part is based on what to do after stage 1, stage 2 and non-conformances issued.

The third section is based on filling out sections of a PEAR (Section 8, 9, & 10), the final report - mainly what are your recomendations.

In short that is the focus of the pretake.

Ask to use the AS9100 PDF (or word) in the computer. It makes it easy to do a search for words and then you would know what to do.

Hi Dsanabria

Thanks for your prompt reply. Appreciate that

When you get time, please let me know

1. how many of these long answer questions like PEAR report, Audit report etc
2. do you remember which sections of audit report was expected to be filled out - Sec 31,32?
3. in terms of time, was there sufficient time to review the case study & respond to the questions? was the case study given to you as a hard copy/ was it online

Thanks again

Tim

1.You will be asked to define OIN (part of the PEAR) - Oasis number

2. You will be asked to determine the top 5 (by priority) of issues with this supplier - go to the management review support material (upper right hand side of the test screen).

3. You will be asked to complete block 8, 9, 10 of the PEAR and provide a result (Major Finding per 4.1.c & f and what ever item you find).

4. You will be asked to write a NCR - no heading.

5. You will be asked to complete the last section of the audit report for stage 1 & stage 2.

6. Af far as time - you have 2 hours for each section and I thought it was ok (Had a couple of minutes to spare) but keep an eye on the clock.

Hi Dsanabria

Thanks again for your prompt response. Appreciate that

It looks like the case study we did in the classroom & associated interview is reproduced in the form of an online exam.

Your response gives me a better understanding of what it will be in the exam

Thanks again & have a wonderful weekend

Tim

Hi Dsanabria

Thanks for your earlier answers. Appreciate that
I have few additional queries:

1. How the 2nd & 3rd parts (Application retake) were structured? You have mentioned that 2nd section covers scenario on a company, quality manual, management review and other documents (Same scenario as the course) – were there any questions in this sections or just review of these documents in the 2 hours

2. Whether all envelope questions were covered in the exam. I have listed below the envelope questions
Stage 1 report (29 -36)
Management review – most important Qs to ask top management)
Major concerns on management review process (prioritise), (audit trails leading to other processes)
Design/ Production – Prepare turtle diagram, QMS matrix, OER
PEAR,
Stage 2 Audit Report,
NCR
You have mentioned some them (PEAR, Stage 1 & 2 reports, NCR, 6 questions to prioritize) were covered in the exam. Whether others listed above were also expected to be answered. Though I do not expect the same question pattern to appear for me, I just want to know the extent of coverage

3. When we do the 3rd part do we still have access to scenario on a company, quality manual, management review etc

Thanks again
Tim

1. The 2nd section is for Pre-stage and STage 1 preparation and yes, there are questoions (20) - fill in the blanks, multiple choices and true and false. The second part is questions, fill in the blanks, complete the blanks from the standard. PEAR and audit results.

The reading material is a resource for you to review - you are never given time to read - it is additional information. both section have 20 questions and each questions has multiple stages of fill in the blanks, multiple choices and complete a document.

2. The only forms that you need to complete - PEAR (the meat part of it, NCR - the meat part of it and the audit report - an analysis.
The envelope in the classroom is not followed but the principles and main message is the same. They will introduce to you another company with some similarities.

3. Yes, you will always have access ti the "RESOUCE" portion on the upper right corner of the screen.

Hi Dsanabria

Thanks again for your prompt reply

One additional question:

For the retake portion based on the new case study, whether 2 or more questions were interrelated ?

Ex: 1. One question asks us to prioritse the issues for management review while other ask us to raise a NCR for one of the issues identified in the list;

2. One question ask us write an Audit report, another a PEAR report, another on NCR - all on the same issue
or
were they totally independent

Appreciate your reply

Tim
