Hi,
I joined to get information on this subject as a result of an aerospace auditor who as part of AS9100 6.2.2 Competence, Awareness, and Training questioned our cumbersome implementaion of 17025 5.2 and asked if it added value.
We break test equipment down into 200 types of equipment, rate technical employees competence as nothing, in training, qualified, able to qualify others. We maintain job descriptions, define responsibilities in qa manual, qualify individuals as technicans and plan training needs, train, evaluate effectiveness and maintain records.
It adds value as it provides records for AS9100 and 17025; other than that its cumbersome extra paperwork and the subject of deficiencies over the years, e.g. what are the technical education and competency goals for the rf technician and the electrical standards lab accredited lab personnel?
Training is NOT a core competency so I'd appreciate any help - especially from accredited cal labs operating as overhead in an aerospace quality system.
Thanks
