Hello All,
I work at a PCB assembly CM, and we are entering into AS9100 audits at the end of the year for our certification. I have some questions regarding Receiving Inspection Requirements and execution.
Much of our components looks very similar or cannot be verified as non-defective/functional on site. Inspecting all parameters ( resistance, footprint, ect) would not be possible for every component coming through the door as it was at other places I worked. As such, I am a little uncertain what we would be required to do. I understand that receiving inspection is actually only an example of how our external providers can be controlled and measured under subclause (d), and not strictly a requirement. However, we want to make sure we are a reliable part of whatever supply chain we enter into.
Currently, our policy is this: We only order parts from Franchised Distributors, and request the CoC and lot information to satisfy counterfeit controls and traceability. In any circumstance we must order parts from a non-franchised distributor like a broker, we will send samples out for testing at an fully certified lab. We also will do receiving inspections on any brokers on regular intervals, and for the first 3 shipments from any new supplier, broker or not. I am setting up C=0 sampling at AQL for all sampling unless requested otherwise by a customer.
Would this satisfy the requirements for AS9100, or am I missing something with this?
