Can anyone tell me if AS9100 Rev. A required C=0 sampling plans if sampling was used?

This was a requirement in AS9100B 8.2.4.

Thanks!

First, were you making a reference of AS9100 C instead of AS9100 Rev A?

Second, this is a quote from AS9100B - 8.2.4
"When the organization uses sampling inspection as a means of product
acceptance, the plan shall be statistically valid and appropriate for use. The plan shall preclude the acceptance of lots whose samples have known
nonconformities. When required, the plan shall be submitted for customer
approval."

I didn't see a reference to "C=0" as stated in your statement.

Third, this is a statement on AS9100C - 8.2.4
"When the organization uses sampling inspection as a means of product acceptance, the sampling plan shall be justified on the basis of recognized statistical principles and appropriate for use (i.e., matching the sampling plan
to the criticality of the product and to the process capability)."

Just for reference, there was an AS9100A. It came between AS9100NC(?) and AS9100B.

What was unique about it is that it had two full standards in one document. One based on ISO 9001:1994 (AS9100NC?) and one based on ISO 9001:2000 (same as AS9100B?).

I wasn't involved back then, but I have been told that organizations had the option of which one to follow.

You will need one of the old timers to answer your question.

Big Jim;

While I agree with you - I think I remember that AS9000 was released in 1998 and then the upgraded to AS9100 Rev A (with AS9101).

However, I am like you - we will wait the season veterans to correct or provide better historical perspective.;)

I found this.
AS9100 and AS9100 Rev. B

AS9100 Rev A contained both ISO9001/2, 1994 and ISO9001:2000. Each of these base-standards were present until ISO9001/2, 1994 expired in December of 2003. Once this standard expired, AS9100 was reissued as Rev B and the only difference was that references to ISO9001/2, 1994 were removed.
In addition, as part of an AS9100 Rev B certification audit, a numerical scoring of the audit results is required. This is defined in the AS9101 rev. B checklist document.
