Hello,
I working on a gap analysis for AS9100C and need help understanding this section under 7.5.1-Planning shall consider, as appropriate
- establishing, implementing and maintaining appropriate processes to manage critical items, including
process controls where key characteristics have been identified,
- designing, manufacturing and using tooling to measure variable data

Can someone provide some specific examples as reference? Our company is ISO 9001:200 & 13485:2003 certified and we are transitioning to AS9100C. Thank You

Hi Sandra, welcome to the Cove.

I would encourage you to familiarize yourself with the IAQG provided documents which help the understanding of AS9100. For example the following documents are available for free download:

On the specific issue of planning for the management of processes which include critical items and key characteristics, please have a look at the material in section 3.1.3 from the IAQG Supply Chain Chain Management Handbook.

Good luck.
