AS9101D Microsoft Word Format: Worth It?

I'm about to buy a copy of AS9101D and I noticed there is a Microsoft Word version. SAE's description of this format: "Will there be multiple users of this document in a single location? Download in Microsoft Word format. Your document will be fully interactive and available for departmental or organizational use."

This sounds pretty cool. The price however, is a not-so-cool $260.00 USD for those of us non-member types. The PDF single user version is half the price at $130.00 USD.

It's the "fully interactive" aspect that has peaked my curiosity. Has anyone purchased the Microsoft version and, if so, was it worth it? What benefits have have you experienced?

I have the MS Word version. It's just as interactive as any other Word document. The forms (PEAR, OER, QMS Process Matrix, reports, etc.) can be typed in and you can expand the field to fit more information in. If that's worth the extra $$ to you, then you should buy it. If not, don't.

Just thought I'd let everyone know I went with AS9101dw. I am very happy with the Microsoft Word format. Just a note to any future buyers: When saving the download on your computer, don't re-name the file in the Save As dialog box. Leave it with the name it gives you.

When I was saving it, the letters weren't capitalized so I decided to capitalize them and add "QMS Audit Requirements" to the file name. (I like to have file names that mean something.) The file wouldn't open. After 10 minutes of messing around I saved it as it originally appeared and only then would the initializing sequence work.
