AS9102 - Are FAIs against a Customer Red-Lined Drawings Allowed?

Is performing an AS9102 FAI against a red-lined drawing (customer marked up the drawing) "legal" under AS9102?

Something about this just doesn't sound right. I'm doing the FAI to verify my processes are locked in and correct then you have the variability of a drawing being marked up.

Two ways to handle this

1. Complete the FAIR with an note stipulating that a Delta would be done in the future if that feature changes.

2. Contact the customer and get clarification on the red- lined feature and advise them that if the feature changes or a print is changed that a Delta FAIR would be required,
