Audit Duration on Remote Site Locations

Good day!

I'm here to ask a question related to the audit timing on the remote site locations due to the new IATF 16949 Rules 6th edition... there's mention about the minimum time on the remote location while auditing? I know that now the minimum for the main sites are 1.5 audit days and the audit duration is according the quantity of employees, but I wanna know if there's a specific part where is mentioned the minimum audit timing for RSL.

If someone can help me I would be very grateful!

For "MFG Sites" table 5.2 is widely varied is as low as 1.25 days for surveillance audits, I won't recite the entire table, I do not see any generic rule of a minimum of 1.5 audit days, be it stage 2, surveillance or recert audit depends on number of employees. For remote support location there is a disclaimer, "It is the responsibility of the certification body to determine the distribution of the minimum audit days each year from the manufacturing Sites to the standalone remote support locations to ensure the effectiveness of audits." It also gets complex if there are indirect support locations, say an RMA Lab at a remote location, that support a Direct Support Location RMA "Head Quarters" that then supports a Manufacturing site. A laboratory for example (there is a list of what can and cannot be remote audited) at a direct support location cannot be remotely audited, however, if the lab is at an Indirect Support Location the rules say the "Interfaces" must be audited. Being the 3rd party CBs are profit driven there is a conflict of interest here if the CB demands to audit the lab at an indirect support location. It could be easy to get into an argument that the lab is producing RMA results directly related to MFG therefore is a Remote Support Location, however if they send the results to another site that then does further processing or review it becomes complex.

Make sure your CB can walk you through the calculation by Head Count, even if they do it in say MS Excel look closely at the formula. Make sure you are getting the 15% discount if you have an enterprise cert. Above all remember, they work for you, not for AIAG, AIAG is not paying them.
