Took me sometime to figure out the changes in this forum, nicely done...
Our facility have just gone thru a book audit, and the auditors found two minor n/c, surprisingly they have audited our books before and submitted corrective actions to close it out, This was two years ago. Since then, no major changes was done on the documentation and here they are saying that they found two minors.
This book audit using the QS standard is really subjective, defends on what the auditors ate for breakfast...
If not too, long could you post what the CA was for and maybe give us a before/after picture of what you were written up on.
In a past life we had an auditor close out a minor my mail. When he came in for a surveillance he attempted to give us a major for the corrective action for the original CA.
I, as MR, kindly asked him in front of management: "Why are you gigging us on this?" He said is was not a proper CA and should not have been closed out and asked who closed it the first time.
I Humbly said, Well, you did. He was not happy and asked to the the reports. I slowly ambled to my office, got a coffee, smoked a cigarette, got the file that was on my desk and went back to the meeting. Everybody was having a good laugh at something as I walked in and handed the auditor the CA with his sign-off.
He turned very red, shuffled through some papers and said he would review his notes.
We did not get gigged and they no longer use that auditor.
I guess the moral of the story is to keep good records and not be shy when dealing with an auditor, they/I are people also.
