He everyone. I guess this is my first "Real" post.
anyway - I'm looking for a faster way to measure outside dimensions (and even some inside dimensions if possible) on a threaded part. We make valves - relief valves, check valves, etc and this would be used post machining to check component parts, as opposed to assembled valves.
Currently we use calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators to measure diameters, thread pitch, length, etc.
I would like to automate this in order to speed the first article and in-process inspections.
I was wondering if any of you might have a recommendation.
I've used OGP's Smartscope in the past for extrusion profiles, but this is a pretty complex device and would take a lot of training if I would want machien operators to do their own inspection some day.
Thanks!
