I would like to get some feedback on how to handle updates to ballooned drawings after an engineering change is made.
Typically, my company renumbers a drawing after an engineering change so that all numbers follow the typical clockwise number scheme. However, one of my engineers is advocating for keeping the balloon number tied to a feature throughout changes and not reusing any balloon numbers for items that have changed for the purpose of not having to remap any SPC programs or worry about sorting data during analyses.
My concern is that customers will see skips in numbering on final dimensional reports and/or FAI and panic.
What are your thoughts?
