Benchmarking: Approved Supplier List for Multiple Sites

Starting to get Involved
We have 18 different manufacturing sites and we are putting together ONE ASL. This will allow us to see how many sites are using the same supplier and to minimize the multiple audits that have occurred. Does anyone else who has multiple sites approach this problem the same way? If so, would you like to share best practices?

Hi,
I can give you a 'worst practice' example instead. We have multiple sites but they don't talk to each other.

If I could change it, I'd recommend getting all the SQM's and Buyers from the sites together to come up with:
- a clear company-wide process for supplier selection
- format of ASL
- ownership of administering this process / list

Let us know how you're getting on.
Lil

Hello Lil
The plan is to use that approach (working with Quality and Supply Chain) to put together ONE list to see the overlaps and come up with the strategy of how we are going to maintain it.
In the past we have the Corporate group oversee the list and based on performance, the suppliers would be identified for audits. The closest site to that supplier would be asked or if necessary, a SME would be assigned based on the process (e.g. sterilization).
