Best approach to tackle difficult certifications

I have 16 yrs fo software dev (SQL, testing, selenium, java, etc). I know test taking is different from anything else. What is the most difficult topic in CSQE or any certifications in general. How long do I need to study and how do I tackle touch areas. Suggestions? I am so inspired by this forum. There are some hard topics on the CSQE what is the approach? Are there training videos on this? CSQE in general.

The bottom line is you have to have a goal. From that you decide which certifications will be appropriate for you.

For the CSQE I would think you would get information of the body of knowledge expected, know what the prerequisites are, get a practice test and in general read up on the test. It sounds like a CSQE would be appropriate for you, but then again it depends upon your goal. And it is also a question of whether employers in your field are looking for specific certifications. Years ago when I got my CQE few companies cared about a CQE when hiring. I did it because it was "the thing to do" as most of the people I was around were getting what ever certifications were "appropriate" for their field and their perceived career path. Even today many companies are more interested in work history than a specific certification.
