BS EN 20417:2021 - Implementation Timeline Aligned With MDR?

Hello Friends!

I am confused on timeline to meet BS EN 20417:2021 requirements for labeling. Can anyone help? I assume the timeline of BS EN 20417:2021 should align with MDR implementation timeline? Am I correct? If not, when does this standard need to be implemented by?

Unfortunately, the timelines are not aligned.

EN ISO 20417:2021 is not yet harmonised under the MDR, but intended, latest by May 2024.

Its European foreword says:

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2021, [...].This document supersedes EN 1041:2008+A1:2013.

Technically, the standard has become effective upon publication. From my personal experience, notified bodies typically accept a transition period of 6 - 12 months, sometimes even longer.
