Since you:
1. have a job (so you are not really doing this for the money),
2. May get future work from this friend / customer,
3. Expect to get good referrals from him / her
then I'd agree with the other posters who suggested a fairly low fee.
As a full-time, independent consultant (if I don't work, I don't eat ) I would charge at a discount (5% to 10%) of the market rate (have to keep my competitors in mind) as it's a friend, and it's early on in the project (potentially a number of small projects vs. a one-off arrangement).
