Bulk Material Requirements Checklist to send along with my PPAP

I have been asked to complete a Bulk Material Requirements Checklist to send along with my PPAP to caterpillar. I have looked throught the AIAG PPAP Manual, i must not understand what they are looking for? Any help would be nice! Thanks in advance

If you have the 4th Edition of the AIAG PPAP manual this would be on page 36.

According to some training material that I received from Caterpillar "Bulk Material is a substance (e.g., non-dimensional solid,liquid,gas) such as adhesive, sealants, chemicals, coatings, fabrics, lubricants, etc. A bulk material may become production material if used in a customer production part number."

Bulk Material section was added to PPAP to help companies that make bulk raw materials. The regular PPAP rules don't always fit bulk materials real well The intent was to simplify it and make it fit better. So, if you make a nylon resin, and the OE customers approved your bulk material PPAP, then you are given a pass for the tier customers. You can give them the bulk material PPAP approval, and some docs like control plan and FMEA and such.

The problem is, the PPAP manual is not super clear. Kind of hard to know exactly what is required to be included. Plus, a lot of bulk materials are not being signed off by the OE's, so some of the best benefits are lost.

But, you can still eliminate or reduce some of the elements of a regular PPAP that don't fit so well. Work out details that you and your customer are happy with.
