Hello.
We sell a lubricant to a Tier I that aids in assembly of their component. The lubricants remains in the component (on the vehicle) as a residue, but is not a functional part of the component. Would this lubricant be within the scope IATF certification?
Not a direct answer (others will do that)...but instead a reality check:
Why would you want to?
If you can sell to the customer without IATF, you'll make more money.
What does your customer think? Are they requiring it?
Hi Ninja, we already have IATF for other products so this is about limiting the CSRs exposed in an IATF audit by being careful to not include products that needn’t be included in the scope of the audit.

I know if I ask our Registrar they will likely say yes, we need to add the site. Their job is to generate revenue. One of my many jobs is to manage costs.
