Business Number versus Company ID?

I'm completing the medical device forms for the first time. We are in the US so I am unfamiliar with the company ID and business numbers they are asking for in the forms. Can someone help me understand the difference and which ones I need? (Also in some places it's required and in some places it's not required.)

Ah, I'm sorry. The MDEL form (which I thought I needed but maybe not now - class II device manufacturer) calls out company ID and getting a company ID needs a business number.

Company ID - you will receive that from Health Canada when your MDEL is approved. Then use it in future if HC is asking for a "company ID".
Business number - is the official/government issued business number of the company.
