Business Plan vs Quality Plan in the TS16949 standard

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this.

There are multiple mentions of Business Plan and Quality Plan in the TS16949 standard.

Is there actually a separate business plan document or can the basic information be contained in the quality manual.

Also what in your opinion makes a good business plan, what are the basics it should contain?

Thank you,

The Business Plan and the Quality Plan are two separate documents.
The Quality Plan is an actionable item which is the result of the Business Plan's Strategies and Goals.

The Quality Plan is audited by outside auditors for completeness of product quality embodied in ISO9000 and TS16949. The Quality Manual is a confidential document between the Auditor and the Audited entity. The Procedure Manual is an open document which can be shared with others. The existence of a Business Plan is auditable. The Auditor may ask to see the Business Plan in order to verify its existence and the provisions directing the creation of a Quality System. All other parts of the Business Plan are not subject to outside audit.

As to what makes a "good" business plan, that is based upon the belief and value sets of the owners. See attached presentation.

I had to break the presentation into three parts.

Hopefully this will give you an idea of Business Planning and how the Quality System fits within the structure of the B.P.

Much fun and insightful work results in an agile, lean, effective, world leading organization. It is the creation process throughout the organization and not the documentation which gets to the "perfection" goal.

Good Luck on your journey.
