Hello. I want to calculate accuracy for a multimeter. The details are as follow

Set value source = 50.00 V
Measured value (multimeter) = 50.1
Resolution (multimeter) = 0.1
Accuracy (multimeter) = 5% + 2 digit

To calculate the accuracy for calibration, is measured value or set value from source is taken into account.

Hello. I want to calculate accuracy for a multimeter. The details are as follow

To calculate the accuracy for calibration, is measured value or set value from source is taken into account.
The accuracy--limits of error--of the multimeter are 5% of reading + 2 digits = 2.5 V + 0.2 V = ?2.7 V.

For a calibration where the 50.00 V set value source is taken as true value, and the estimated error of the multimeter will be established, then both source and measured are taken into account. Ideally we would like more information about the 50.00 V source, and I provided a nominal 5-sample random component for the meter reading, plus the meter resolution.

Computed Mean Deviation: 0.100 V ? 0.268 V with 95.00% Confidence

So, the (0.1 ?0.268) V is the error plus or minus the range that the error may truly lie at 95% conf. This is within the error limits (accuracy) of 2.7 V for the multimeter.
