Hello All
Can anybody tell me what the legal status of the Part Submission warrant is.
Also if it is designated as a legaly binding document, where I can find this
documentation.
Thanks Simon Chisholm (Birmingham UK)
Hi Simon
Do you have a corporate lawyer (or is it solicitor?). If so, you could run this past him.
Our lawyer says the obligation chain starts with the customers purchase order. It calls out QS 9000, which contains PPAP, and PSW. By accepting the PO, we accept everything and its dog, even all those documents we don't even know exist.
Also he says check out the terms and conditions on the back of the purchase order. Dry and deadly reading for sure...
The only way to win is to have the last piece of paper on top, try to accept the PO with ammendments...but the Big 3 are wise to this...
I think the biggest issue trying to get people excited about this is that none of this is a problem, until it becomes a problem, and then its too late.
No customer is ever going to show up to audit all your contractual obligations. So no one in Production sees it as a crisis. The customer doesn't care since if there is a problem, they will just sue.
