Can psychics really see the past/future?

In God we trust

Skepticism may be an occupational hazard for us Quality folks - in God we trust - all others bring data![/font]
Dear Jennifer:

I just wanted to follow up on what Caster has said - In God we trust - all others bring data.

The psychic is just bringing "data" to you using methods that are generally alien to most of us. What I was trying to point out is that the interpretation of this data is entirely up to each one of us. However, as all good "scientists" do, before drawing conclusions, the data itself and even the methods used to generate the "data" (here provided to you by the psychic) must also be carefully examined. I tried to show you how I was given a "free" reading by a psychic, moments after I sent an email. I knew I would receive a response within a few minutes, if not within the hour.

I have also done what you have done, talk to psychics recommended by my priest. However, in spite of their best intentions, and my fondest hopes and desires, I found that they were not able to "probe" too much into the future. Amazingly, they always seem to be much better at "probing" into the past. Believe me, I was stunned when a psychic described the situation that I was in, back in 1998, without my uttering so much as a word. But, the same psychic made predictions about the immediate future (weeks from the date) and the longer term future (a couple years). These were off target.

May be you are luckier than others in finding someone who has been able to help you. But, you are actually helping yourself - this is the reality that you must also recognize. Hope this helps. God Bless you.

Make your predictions

I knew it! I'm 2 for 2 now! PM me, Charmed,...

PS -- My psychic business is not ISO certified because I predicted that ISO certification is not important to you, performance is! :lmao:
Dear Mike:

What's your standard deviation and Six Sigma rating - or the process "shift" - as the Black Belts and Gurus call it?

Here's to the psychic: Can you tell if BIG BUCKS are coming my way? I have an entreprenuerial thought and need to get some backers. I need some venture capital money. Will I succeed? How soon?

You get 1% of the BIG BUCKS that I make. The Bigger the Bucks, the Bigger your take. I am thinking of at least a few million, or hundred million, so I can take a ride into space by 2010, or 2020, or whenever the private spacecrafts are ready (see the space race thread). So, take your stab at these questions now. :D

P. S. Glad to see that we are having some fun with this thread. Hope we are not getting our new poster Waltz1982 too confused

Have a great day. With my warmest regards.

Jennifer,

Wait a second here. I do not think you are being fair when you say
Randi "won't agree to believing anything he doesn't choose to. Same as all of us."

Randi has 12 rules to take the Million $ that are very clearly stated. None of the rules can be constituted as opinion or interpretive. You can view them on his website. Right now, you have opinion and he has facts.

If you have benefitted from a psychic, good for you, but to date, nobody has proven psychic ability so when we are discussing "true psychics" vs. frauds, what criteria are we using? Do true psychics have a degree from the Psychic University?

To date, nobody has PROVEN that psychic ability exists. We can clearly put it in the same bag as Bigfoot, Nessie, UFO's and the rest of the hokum that seperates people from their money.

Carl-

Well, here's my take.

Last summer, I spent 5 weeks in Europe after graduation backpacking with three girlfriends. Our last week was spent in Manchester with my aunt and uncle, taking day trips here and there. We went to Blackpool one day and wound up on the boardwalk, in a palmist's hut, getting our palms read for 10 pounds (steep at $25 Canadian, but you know...just for kicks...)

She told me that I was currently in a serious relationship, and that I would be engaged to him within 2 years, and that I will have two children - a boy and a girl. She also said that I will excel in my career and will eventually become my own boss. Worry with respect to a family member will soon be over (never figured that one out - could only link it to my dad, but he had already passed away about 18 months earlier??).

Took all of it with a grain of salt - sure, anyone can make up a fancy story about your future. But - my boyfriend proposed a couple of weekends ago :) - so she *was* right about one thing...who knows?

Just my :2cents:...
-R.

PS: She told one of my friends that her first child would have a successful career in opera singing. I mean, teacher, doctor, fine, whatever - but **opera singer**??? That's a mighty thin limb you're crawling out on there...

Dear Rachel:

Congratulations on the proposal.

Remember, two children are on the way (don't stop though because of the psychic) and you are going to be your own boss (husbands make a good starting point for learning how to become a good boss!).

Keep us posted.

Jaime, what then do you think is going on with this Mt. St. Helens thing? USGS stands for United State Government Services (sORry "G" for Geological).
I saw this morning were the activity at the mount has been downgraded to a category II from category III. How many psychics got that one right!?

I believe that eventually the mount will blow up again. I am not a geologist so what do I know!? And I am not about to consult a psychic either.

Dear Jaime:

You may be pushing Rachel. All she told us was that her boyfriend did propose. She did not tell us that she accepted his proposal!

Come on, Rachel, I was trying to coax a reply from you - and may be put the lucky guy's mind at ease as well.

You are correct. However, Rachel was using the psalmist's reading as an example of psychic predictions come true. Since the psalmist predicted marriage I assumed Rachel meant that her boyfriend's proposal was accepted.

So Rachel, did you accept? And, did the psalmist's reading influence your decision?
