Can Six Sigma be self taught?
You bet your sugar coated donkey it can! I have been in Quality since Noah was a cabin boy. I first passed the CQE in 1979. I took an improvement project we worked at my employer at the time, wrote it up showing the Six Sigma tools we used and (substantial) financial results, took the exam and I'm ASQ CSSBB Cert#213. I'm currently working at a large consulting company as a MBB, working with BBs who have Moresteam, Villanova, and other top line class certs. I also have self taught BBs. Your practical experience will more than balance the benefit from the formal training. I'm not running down formal training. But a BB isn't really a BB until they've been out on the floor on their own for a few projects.
