Can these Quality Policy Statements be used in our American and Canadian sites

Hello, please help.

I am new to site, fist time ever posting anywhere :confused:.

I have been asked to review whether the following statements can be used for quality policy statements in our American and Canadian sites.

Blah Blah card Group Inc. is committed to: Continuous Improvement and innovative products to exceed customer expectations and deliver the highest quality products and services in the card industry.

and

Provide superior quality products while meeting customer's and legal requirements and provide value to all stakeholders through a process of continuous improvement

I think I already know the answer as I do not think that the statements are specific enough, but would appreciate some expert advise on how I can inform the powers that be they are not and what would you recommend I say to back this up. thanks in advance for any help. new to this 9001 stuff and want to get it right. :cfingers:

Welcome to the Cove. Hopefully you'll get quite a bit of useful feedback. My question is "why 2 statements"?

The second one seems more realistic - I have always found that "exceeding customer expectations" to be unachievable since expectations are rarely voiced and, also, gives you no "headroom" for improvement.

the 2 statements comes from different areas one in Canada ( the latter and one in America from several sites. I prefer the 2nd statement too and agree the other is too wooly and is not precise enough. they want to add this statement to an existing policy statement which has more detail in the qms management statement. thank you for your advice, its much appreciated.

The evil streak in me would suggest you ask them how they would measure each. :)

Of course, there's policy and then objectives so maybe the objectives are less wooly?
