CE Marking choosing between module A, B

Dear friends

i need to understand about CE marking

the manufacture in such cases he can choose between

(Module A) internal production control, where he will put CE marking with out a notified body

(Module B) CE type-examination, where he will put CE marking by a notified body

is there a difference in face of any other community? are in the first case it will be a CE mark logo only, where in the second case it will be CE marking registered by the notified body?

is this will make a advantage to the manufacture, because i think if it is available all the manufactures will choose module A
