iso ts16949

Hai

1. It is not at any level of standard that the ISO /TS 16949 is only for the Tier I supplier to OEM .
2.It is restricted to the co which off load the manufacturing activity.
3.And even it ask all ISO /Ts 16949 cos to demand their suppliers to go for ISO/TS 16949 /

so i will request you to go for the certification

Hola lanaretriever,
I work as an ISO/TS auditor here in Spain, and as far as i know, ISO/TS 16949:2002 is applicable to "any supplier that makes parts that go on cars", any tier in the automotive supply chain, for any customer in the automotive supply chain[/I]. So if your "customer" require it, you'll have to get the certificate.

Remsqa,
Only sites where parts are manufactured can obtain ISO/TS 16949:2002 certification.

You can find more information at IAOB web page.

Thanks,

We are subcontractors and supply steel bars to supplier that manufacture Torsion Bars, Springs Leaf etc. What would happend if we work in TS 16949:2002, but the Certification Body only certificate a locations that produce OEM's parts?.

Is it correct?

You would fall under Clause 7.4.1.2 Supplier quality Management System Development requirements and as a supplier to your customer you would have to be registered to ISO 9001:2000. Ultimately you would be required to achieve TS 16949 registration at some point in time.

In this case your customers customer would have to grant an exception for you not to be registered to ISO 9001 or TS 16949.

TS 16949:2002 is for anyone who manufactures parts for the Automotive Industry.

Usually, Tier II will be requested to get ISO/TS 16949 vertification.

Our customer (a Tier I) has requested that we get TS Accreditation

They have put a date on it, which I cant remember.

Anyway we are doomed.
