Hello everyone! First time positing in this group/forum.

We're currently using Lotus Notes database to process Change Orders. It's really an old software and improvements/changes are not supported anymore.
We are looking at migrating our Change Order system through a MS SharePoint site (recommended by the Management).

Does anyone have experience using SharePoint site in processing change orders or any similar system for reference?
Also, what other databases or software do you use in your organization that you recommend highly?

Thank you,
Maria

TrackWise and MasterControl are a couple of document management systems that come to mind. Both can easily manage your change order process, as well as most of your other QMS processes (audit, CAPA, etc.).

Are you planning on using electronic signatures for your change orders? If so, you will might need the cloud-based version of SharePoint. Easier than on premises version for e-sigs.

It depends on your needs, SharePoint is sold as it is, not to easy to be customized, but again, first do a list of your needs (proposals, flow of approvals , changes, notifications, etc . If have lot of needs, maybe SP is not for you,

First off, do a list of your needs, e.g. requests, flow of approvals, notifications into the system or by email, transactions, calculations, etc. If your needs are similar, then probably SP is not for you, SP is a generic application, which has limited customization, according to your needs, maybe you need a home-made development, supported by SQL or other database on the backend And visual basic or java script in the front end.
Hope this helps
