Sooner than I expected.

An update: The final draft of the AS9100 Rev. C is being balloted in the Americas Sector, with a deadline for review and comments of November 4th, 2008. It addresses the minor editorial changes of the ISO 9001:2008 FDIS. From what I understand, both the European and Asia Pacific Aerospace Quality Groups have already approved their versions of 9100 Rev. C.

It seems, then, 9100 Rev. C will be published shortly after ISO 9001:2008 is released, which is expected to happen October 31st.

So, we might be less than a month away from release of 9100 Rev. C. Remember the 30 month (from time of publication) time frame to adequate your system and attain certification to the revised standard, already discussed.

Re: What will change in AS9100 Revision C?

Sidney- I signed up for your webinar for the 30th of this month. I found it while researching the upcoming change in AS9100. Our company is currently ISO/TS and want to be certified to AS by 9/2009. I read all of the threads in this topic and learned alot. Any advice to look for in pitfalls for this standard?

Re: What will change in AS9100 Revision C?

Any advice to look for in pitfalls for this standard?
I could go on for days here, trying to answer that question. If you already do business with Aerospace customers, chances are, nothing in 9100 will be new to you. If you don't have a history of aerospace contracts, it can be painful. For example, performing First Article Inspections can be time consuming and costly.
Sorry if I can't elaborate more.

Re: What will change in AS9100 Revision C?

Attached is a document I've put together comparing the Ballot Draft of AS9100 Rev C and the current Rev B. I've also included a column with commments on the changes. This should hopefully provide some info to give some here a head start with the new version.

Re: What will change in AS9100 Revision C?

Hi All,

I would like re-start the thread once again since the new ISO 9001:2008 is been published on 14/11/2008. Once again may I request all to let us (All of us) know that whether there is going to be a change and if so whether there is any clues about the new standard release?

Thanks one and all in anticipation,
shankar
