After searching the many and various procedures, I can't find any that have got the SAP look about them. For those who have introduced SAP from a previous I.T system ( fools I hear everyone say), how did you manage the change requirements to the procedures. In short did you use the inputs/activity/output flow charts typically created with SAP as foundation for the company procedures or completely re write based on descriptive style around the required SAP screens
thanks

Alan,
Make SAP part of the QMS. Do not repeat its controls in your documented procedures.
For example, supplier selection may be automated in SAP according the impact that the supplied item has on your product:
0. No impact
1. Makes contact with our product
2. Becomes part of our product
3. Special process controls required
Each of the suppliers could be qualified according to the rating system with reference to additional controls for impacts 2 and 3,
Replacing your textual procedures with the flowcharts sounds like a good idea too. But for this you should consult with the users.
Your SAP may support cue sheets or memory joggers to guide users and this could further reduce the workload of maintaining documented information outside of SAP.
Avoid duplication so users do not have to look in two places at once.
