Checklist for ISO/TS16949 for review and comment

Good Morning,

Has anyone ever been asked to fill something like this out before? I have a checklist similar to show areas of the standard and what processes fulfill it but I am at a loss as far as how to fill this out. Of course, it was sent to me asking me to have it complete tomorrow with no further instructions as to what they are expecting.

I'm taking it as I should fill one of the checklists out for every process we audit- is that how you are taking it? Any insight?

Who gave this to you?
It would seem to me a request to spoon feed some auditor.

Re: Checklist ISO/TS

One of our sister plants sent it to us, they are asking all their suppliers to fill it out (we supply them a few things so they want us to do it too).

It looked like audit prep material for new auditors, I was shocked we were asked to do it and more shocked that they are asking for it due tomorrow.

Be warned! This is NOT a "Process" audit checklist! It is merely a clause-by-clause audit checklist that does not verify the EFFECTIVENESS of your PROCESSES!

How would you handle this?

I do not see it as value added at all, I feel it will take a substantial amount of time to complete and will not benefit anyone. I wish they would have given more detail as far as what they want, what it is being used for and what the purpose of the checklist is.

We can only speculate why they asked for it. I would suggest that you ask them.

You might tell them that they are asking you to audit all of the requirements of the standard overnight, and it's not possible to do it. Since they are a sister plant, you might offer to send them a summary of your internal audit results instead to show conformity.
