Welll.... I hesitated to put in a link to Faux, but it was available and this can't really be a big deal. I was thinking about the calibration aspect. A big, flat desert with some "border line" features with regard to height. From a basic point of view it would be sorta like an optical comparator where you have a known overlay as a reference.

The US has spy satellites. Who knows how they calibrate them. Maybe someone here does but I have no idea.

Who knows. Maybe they're just doing some cheap road work out there to decoy the US into spending goodness knows how many $$$ to try to figure it out.

Marc, I am always skeptical about "mystery solved". Especially when it comes so quickly. It seems to be a way to make people stop asking questions. Like, for example, a little over a year ago, a very large missile was launched off the coast of Los Angeles, but no agency assumed responsibility for the launch. A couple of days later, an aerospace expert solved the mystery by saying it was in reality an airplane.:mg: that was no airplane.

I guess I'm not interested too much in conspiracies and spying and such. All that spying and the US had Iraq totally wrong. Maybe I'm saying - Well I don't care. There are things we simply don't know, but I admit at times there re things which are interesting to speculate on. I'm not a fan of the "official" explanation about the cause(s) of the collapse of the WTC 7 building collapse. But - We'll never know the real story, at least not in our life times.

Like I said above, I saw this follow up and saw "Spy Satellite Calibration Targets". This thread was started about the "mysterious patterns in the desert" so I was just adding a recent "report'. Like I said - Maybe they're just doing some cheap road work out there to decoy the US into spending goodness knows how many $$$ to try to figure it out.

There is always an answer for a "so-called" mystery. Maybe we like the answer or maybe we don't. I'm way past the point of of caring why things happen that I have no control over. For us, life goes on and we deal with it in a logical adult manner.

In this world we take care of ourselves so we are able to take care of others.
