Fort Smith has lights? :mg: Last time I was there (1981), they lit the runways with candles! Oh wait...I drove there.

I remember seeing these a few years ago. Too bad it turned out to be a hoax. Seemed like a neat idea.

The lights were not a hoax - Only the part about visitors to his web site being able to turn them on or off. No less pretty even if the lights can't be turned on and off by internet visitors.

Actually that's what I meant. I like that he had his wife turning them on and off while he was in a news helicopter, reporting on them! He even had a few neighbors in on it, helping out. Took random pix with the occasional passing car and even planes flying overhead.

Very elaborate, and obviously well thought out to run it this long. He could have kept going even now if he had wanted to.....

When I read about the hoax, I wondered what his 'trip' was faking the aspect of site visitors being able to control the lights - Publicity and web site visitor numbers, I guess. None the less, they guy did make up a very pretty display - Including the Halloween display.
