Clutch Plate Blackening Process - Help with process flow and details

Dear all,

We are manufacturing clutch and brakes .we done blackning processes (Outsource)for some of our clutch plates .I am new to this process ,So please somebody gives me detail about this process and tell me how this process flows?

I am aware of the term blackening used for gun barrels.
