College FOOTBALL is back!!!!!! September 2007

Ah, but their all time record may no longer apply. Much as I hate to admit it, they do have a coach now with a slightly better collegiate record than that.
Oh you SEC apologist, you. That's what they said when they got Lou Holtz (33-37-0, .471). Although, I expect that Spurrier's 15-10-0, .600, looks pretty good around Columbia. 'Round these parts, that kind of record gets you fired. Earle Bruce (81-26-1, .750) over 9 seasons never had a season under .750 until, oops, 6-4-1, .591, and it's Goodbye, Earle.

Then again, its OK when people underestimate the SEC. Really, it is. In the end that makes it sooo much sweeter.
We got Butch. And I am looking forward to seeing big brother Carolina whip the gamecocks.

By the way, Miami is whipping A&M right now. Go ACC.

Maybe the Oklahoma loss was fluke. :bigwave:

Icy, my son.....allow me to educate you.....

Georgia beats Alabama.....wild game! Alabama is still in the SEC West race, but for how long is yet to be seen.....or they could take the West.....

LSU beats South Carolina.....which I expected.....SC is still in the SEC East race.....but must get by both Florida and Kentucky.....

Florida was in a junkyard fight at Ol' Miss.....Florida is the favorite for the SEC East, and of course I hope my Gators win it and the whole SEC.....and then beat the tar out of the over-rated USC for the National Championship.....but still a little early to predict how badly USC would lose.....providing of course that Corso does not don the Gator head again.....

Hence, a SEC Championship between South Carolina and Alabama can't be ruled out - yet.....

But remember, only twice in history has the SEC Champion had TWO conference losses.....what other conferences make that claim?

USC has not yet faced a serious opponent.....Washington State is not a bad team, but typical of Pac-10 in the past.....Nebraska has not played Nebraska football for a few years.....now, when USC plays Oregon and Cal - if Oregon and Cal put the same teams on the ground that they did against Michigan and Tennessee - then USC will be in trouble.....

Big 10 shaping up pretty well.....though I did expect Joe Pa to win at Michigan, so I got that one wrong.....

Definately the SEC is the strongest conference this year. Unfortunately 2 losses probably won't get a team into the national championship game. We need a playoff system.

Although the GA dogs will likely not have a "GREAT" year, I have to say that Saturday night's game with Alabama was one of the best I have ever seen. Watched Kevin Butler kick a winning filed goal with :08 left to beat Clemson, from the upper deck in Sanford Stadium, and last weekend's game, watching on TV, beat that. What a fantastic game!

School's back in session...Joe Pa can't beat Michigan. He's 3 for 13 and lost 9 straight. I don't think he's ever won in Ann Arbor.

Only one more weekend before the Big 10 Showdown. First, PU (newly ranked at #25 in the USA Today Poll) vs. ND (Can you say 0-8 start?) and OSU vs. Minnesota (another 58 points anyone?). With Wisconsin playing MSU and Illinois, the Boilers/Bucks game should be the (first) conference deciding game. Wisconsin doesn't see a real test until they have to play Penn State in Happy Valley. A Purdue win could make things interesting as they don't play Wisconsin this season.

The Georgia-Alabama game was excellent. That may be the first time I've enjoyed an SEC game that wasn't a conference championship. As for the Gamecocks being SEC patsies and Spurrier not helping, LSU 28, SC 16. Sure he was 11-1 against LSU, AT FLORIDA. Coaching Gators and coaching Gamecocks are not the same, even today, prosecution rests.
