I liked the ESPN desk jockeys on Saturday: Wofford beat Appalachian State, Appalachian State beat Michigan, Michigan beat Notre Dame and Penn State. So, theoretically, Wofford could beat Notre Dame and Penn State.

I say rank the Terriers about 20 in the AP poll and put 'em in the SEC. I bet they could take Vandy.

But remember, only twice in history has the SEC Champion had TWO conference losses.....what other conferences make that claim?

Big East, Sun Belt, Conference USA. See, there's a bunch of other leagues comparable to the SEC.

#1 Definately the SEC is the strongest conference this year. #2 Unfortunately 2 losses probably won't get a team into the national championship game. #3 We need a playoff system.

Obviously you have little knowledge of football outside of your small world. West Virginia is in the top 5, Rutgers in the top 10, and South Florida in the top 15. Also if I remember my history correctly, the Big East was 5 - 0 in bowls last season, and WVU put a beating on UGA in the Sugar Bowl.

Last time I checked, the SEC did not have a particulary stellar OOC performance (not that any conference really has). But I don't buy anymore the fluff about the high and mightly SEC. There are a couple of very good teams, and a potential title winner, but name me a conference that can not make that statement.

Notre Dame?? Haha. They will be lucky if they finish the year 3-9. Charlie Weiss is a fraud, but please keep him around I love having the high and mighties in the mud.

But of course, what fun is football season if you can't point out that the other guys' teams all stink. And speaking of stinking, I think dhammonds is optimistic about ND's chances. They'll be lucky if they don't finish 0-12. They don't stand a chance until they get to the Navy, Air Force, Duke and Stanford section of their schedule. Stanford's record only looks bad because they played 2 ranked teams and even Duke has beaten a team that's better than ND.

I think ND might be good enough to beat dook and Air Force, but Navy will run over them faster than an F-18. Stanford isn't to the maturity of beating anyone, let alone ND. I normally don't like USC, but I think the University of Spoiled Children will hang 70 on the domers.

Now compare that to what OSU did to lowly YSU and Akron. Those were relatively close games and YSU and Akron are not exactly powerhouses. Why in the heel do you think OSU plays those puds?

Northwestern has actually won 2 games this season; ND has not. The OSU that played Northworstern had something to prove. The OSU that played YSU and Akron looked like the same team that the Gators trounced in the Championship; Tressel had the second string in the YSU game in the 1st quarter. Why the heel: For the same reason that LSU played Miss. State and Florida played Western Ky.: you need 6 wins to get into the BCS $$$.
