This might be but after the Cubs were ignominiously eliminated by the D-Backs on Saturday I fell into my normal deep October depression, but was delivered from it last night as the Bears defeated the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers in front of 71,000 cheeseheads in northern Wisconsin.

The Bears did what they had to do - win a game to avoid being 4 games behind the division leader - but the Pack were their own worse enemy. You don't win games when you have 12 penalties and 5 turnovers.

This has in fact been a wild season! Who would have thought that South Florida (Big East) would be in the top 5, or even ranked for that matter?

I heard someone say recently that this year being wierd is all the fault of Appalation State.....

But two things were consistent so far.....the announcers on TV being all ga-ga about the over-rated Trojans, and someone beating USC and knocking them down.....

Now, as for the SEC.....we actually COULD see a rematch of Florida/LSU for the SEC Championship.....Auburn and LSU are both WEST, not East, so Florida could still take the East.....but they have to get past Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina.....

Personally, I would love to see a South Carolina and South Florida game for the National Championship this time.....and the way this season as gone so far, it can't be ruled out - yet.....

I hope it is a blow out. It is possible, UNC did beat Miami last week. And, they got Butch.

Barely. LSU has a real chance to solidify that spot, depending on the outcomes, by playing Florida, KY and Auburn. Meanwhile, USC has a bye for the next 3 weeks (we can only hope that on any given Sunday...).

I like Spurrier and see nothing wrong with what he did, he was within the rules so what is the issue? I am a huge NC fan and I think in a couple years they will be pretty good. Yates looks pretty good with the exception of the USF game. I think they are playing a total of 23 freshman 12 redshirt and 11 true. I just hope Davis dosen't pull a Mack Brown and leave after he gets the program up and running.
