I realise this and audits are based on specific processes and not a check list but I find with new auditors, especially with the new intergrated Management System we are introducing it is handy for them to have a check list for their own use to make sure certain elements are not overlooked.

The element by element "do you have a procedure" stuff should have already been accomplished long ago.
Inexperienced auditors will get locked into the checklist and never really look, thereby not creating any real value.
