MicroVu vs OPG

I need to replace non-contact measuring system.
My research has be comparing MicroVu’s Vertex machine to OPG’s Smart Scope Flash. I am measuring rather simple parts, Orings and Flat gaskets.
Has anyone used and have an option on either measuring machinings?

Hi Rick,
Welcome to the Cove.

We use the MicroVu and are very pleased with results, ease of use and their service. Another thing you should consider is we are right down the road and could probably help with any problems you may run into.

:agree1: OGP has on several occasions left a smart scope here for evaluation. The OGP system, I must confess, has some features and advanced programming options you may find helpful for your product. The profile trace, for example, will scan around the perimeter of the part, even though it is outside the current field of view – Very cool. It also allows the programmer to embed logic in the code, creating a limitless amount of flexibility and power to the applications.

MicroVu, on the other hand, is easy to use, accurate, and cheap. Our products are machine parts, and some of the programs are fairly involved. My opinion is that the Vertex should tear up a 2d object such as circuit boards, gaskets, etc. no trouble at all.
At the end of the day, we have 6 Vertex 220’s, another 3 abroad, 1 Vertex 440, 3 equipped with touch probes; and 0 OGP systems.

Does anyone have any more feedback to this question? we are in the decision phase of buying a vision measurement machine.
