Competition Day

I remember one day each summer on which various athletic events were held in the main Camp Area. There was "standing broad jump," running broad jump," "hop, skip and jump," pull-ups (always won by Jim "Termite" Berquist!), etc. I'm not sure if this was part of the overall competition between (among) Tribes, but think it was.

There were also competitions between tribal members, possibly the same day, involving events like "drop the clothes pin in the milk bottle - from a ladder," "hop on one foot and try to knock your opponent out of the circle," etc.

There may also have been swimming races, etc.

Does anyone remember any other specific events?

In my later years, they started "Gold Rush," but that ended with competitions between the different age/activity groups.
