Compliance Officer Outsourcing? RoHS, REACH, ELV, GADSL, IECSC

Our SMALL company has RoHS & REACH compliance documentation. We now have a customer requesting compliance/statements for ELV, GADSL, and IECSC too. Trouble is no-one here has any familiarity with these and certainly not the time to do a lot of studying to change that right now (too many hats on my head as it is, no time to add Compliance Officer to my resume!)

I know the "Compliance Officer" position can be outsourced. Do any of my fellow Q peeps here have any direct experience or knowledge regarding the available resources? Looking for both recommendations and places to avoid.

Fortunately in the short term our CEO has elected to tell this company that they get what they get, REACH & RoHS. No other regs were discussed during contract negotiations.

In the long run I can see this will come up again and would still like experienced feedback.

Not too sure about the others. There are several ELV acronyms, and IECSC seems to stand for "Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China".

I know this isn't a lot of help, so I hope it helps a little!

Also, I just found out today that REACH has added a new substance to their candidate list. Now up to 169 substances.

Thanks, Tyler. I did some homework before posting =) enough to know I want to explore outsourcing. Thought I'd be the only one who didn't know this alphabet soup:

• REACH (we have declaration)
• RoHS (we have declaration)
• ELV End of Life for Vehicles – EU Directive 67/548/EEC [357 pages; 3000+ list of chemicals] plus EC1272/2008 [2000+ pages]
• GADSL Global Automotive Declarable Substance List. 2000+ substances to check against.
• RISL Railway Industry Substance List – 376 chemicals to check
• IECSC Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances produced or imported in China – list of 45,612 substances
