well I'm not familiar with ICT(HP3070) but I am familiar with functional test MSAs. I have attached a document extracted from my training materials that explains the critical elements of functional test MSAs...hope this helps.

Bev D,
Can I conclude that the GR&R is the perfect tool for MSA because of the limitation on the functional test?

Do you have any experience with PSW Level 3 submission, PPAP (production part approval process)? As per PPAP for MSA studies - Require Gage R&R, bias, linearity, stability, for all new or modified gages, measurement, and test equipment.

Is it ok if method of measurement used inside the control plan is MSA - Gage R&R?

Thanks.

not sure I understand your question? My response primarily addressed the design of the study. The math to be used can be the same as in AIAG manual. Although *I* don't rrecommend it or use it. Some customers will accept the math I used in the examples (the youden/wheeler approaches) some don't. but its your choice...hope this answers your question...
