Paddy,

I believe that there is a PowerPoint template that formats a presentation for an improvement project. If you have the means, you may want to check this out. With a little tweaking, you should be able to create a template of your own that will suit your needs.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

I think the poster hit the wrong link and 'reported' the thread instead of posting a reply:

This is the reason that the user gave:
OUR COMPANY HAS ALREADY GOT QS9000 CERTIFIED BUT WE COULDN'T MEASURE THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITY INSTADE OF QUALITY , THEN I WILL TRY TO FIND HOW TO MEASUREMENT.

Its easy to understand PAs and CI when you don't even know they exist. These topics point to Learning Organizations. We all know there are not many in existance. How do you use PAs to drive a CI methodology? To the layman, all the quality lingo seems overburdening, too technical. Maybe understanding learning would be more beneficial to use these tools?

To the layman, all the quality lingo seems overburdening, too technical.

I don't consider myself really a "layman", but it would help if people used words instead of constant abbreviations.

I spend so much time translating CI into "continuous improvement" etc. that I lose the thread of the conversation! Especially when CA can mean "corrective action" or "customer attributes" or "chartered accountant" according to the context! :bonk:

I understand that there are accepted technical abbreviations in common use, I don't dispute this, but I think they shouldn't be overdone. I agree, the quality lingo does seem overburdening, I'm sure the lack of plain English (or French, or Swedish, or whatever) contributes a lot.

I think the greatest thing about this forum is that it's a place of human quality, we find down-to-earth information, not idealised theory out of text-books.

Okay, I'm through with my grumbling. Thanks for listening! ;)

One of the primary underlying reasons folks don’t readily learn about quality philosophy is because of their exposure to learning. Learning is a big word that encompasses more than just going to school and getting good grades. Therein lies the destroyer of the true nature of education. From kindergarten on to high school and college, students focuses on the result of learning and not on the process of learning.
“I need to get a good grade!!” Students tend to focus on the grade because that is how they will be ranked. A better GPA will mean a higher paying job. The ranking structures that we have created are counterproductive to education. Having achieved a high grade, a student would be satisfied with learning all there is to know about the topic covered. High grades and level of education are not proportionate to one another.
“Idealised theory out of textbooks” is very important to the learning process, especially in the area of quality philosophy. Without theory, no learning takes place. A systems thinker would be able to recognize the ideal and the reality. The better we can see reality with our filters, the better we can respond to (or even foresee) changes in our respective environments (this may include market, community, customer needs, culture, etc.).
Get beyond the minutia of acronyms and abbreviations, and understand what learning is all about.
I recommend reading Peter Senge’s “The Fifth Discipline”.

I am a bit confused. This thread looks to be random. Did some posts get sent to the wrong thread?
