As a contract manufacturer/ mechanical assembly supplier to a large customer, where does our liability end if there are failures in the field.
We assemble sub-components based on the customers work instructions and using their approved suppliers for raw materials. We do no testing of the sub-components. Our Customer completes the final product and does extensive testing before it ships to the end user. What is our liability for failures in the field?

This is more of a question for an attorney (your own attorney, so not me) to answer. They would be able to look at the products, your manufacturing practices, look at the contracts you have with your customers, and see where you could be liable for a failure in the field. So many variables go into it, and they're all interdependent and probably case-specific, so it's hard to measure. :)
