Control of Documents in several languages and Document Linking

I am in the process of creating manufacturing work instructions (MWI) in several languages ,and I am having trouble determining what would be best way to control these documents.

Any suggestion? Attached is a sample English version that I will be using.


Also,

I am having trouble deciding which way to link the work instructions. The are several options that I could use:

Have the router be the master document and when it changes the MWI changes or have the MWI be the master document and when it changes the router needs to change

I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again for your help

Nice Visual Work Instruction !

Not sure how your Document Control Database is designed. But, I guess I would use English as the Master Document and have other versions with a Prefix denoting the other language. SPAN-MWIxxxx, CHIN-MWIxxxx, etc.

Dunno. :2cents: May be too easy or too difficult. Just sompin’ to chew on. Let us know how you make out.

Hi,

first to introduce myself.
I am Quality Manager in an automotive plant in Romania, EU. From my point of view you can define one single document despite the usage of multiple languages. When you will change the version in EN, you will change also ES, CH, so on, isn't it ? Therefore the entity is the document which contains all languages.

About your WI, appear to be good, but as improvement sugetion I can recommend you :
  • introduce control frequency (all parts, 5 parts per shift) and who is responsible for control ?
  • introduce gage used (visual inspection, ruler ?) You wrote 4..6 stitches per inch but how you measure this ?
